The Crete Public Library serves the Village of Crete, Crete Township, and a few other area addresses.  Library district residents have access to a wide variety of materials and online resources with their free library cards.  The well-trained and friendly staff is there to assist you.

The Crete Public Library is a member of RAILS (Reaching Across Illinois Library System) and the SWAN Database Consortium, which provides an online catalog allowing cardholders to borrow from more than 90 other public library collections through an interlibrary loan service.  Cardholders in good-standing are also able to use their card in-person at most other public libraries in Illinois.

Programs for children include storytimes, reading clubs, arts, crafts, STEAM, games, movies, and live performances.  Programs for t(w)eens include crafts, movies, anime, games, and trivia.  Programs for adults include book discussions, film showings, trivia, crafts, a writer's group, lectures, workshops, and live performances.

Our services and resources include photocopiers, fax, scanner, computers, printing, meeting and study rooms, a digital conversion station, notary public, test proctoring and voter registration.

**While many services were suspended or offered via curbside service during the pandemic, the library has resumed most services.  Please check the library's website for current information.**
